2.Best poster award by Croatian Association of Crystallographers
Croatian Association of Crystallographers proudly announces its “Best poster award (BPA) at the ECS3”. The three-membered CAC BPA panel will carefully examine all posters displayed at the ECS3 (including mystery interviews with the presenting authors during the poster sessions, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Sep. 26th and 27th) and choose five of them, which are, in its opinion, best in terms of: i) scientific content, ii) clarity and quality of presentation, and iii) aesthetics.
The decision of the CAC BPA panel will be made public at the Facebook profile of the ECS3 on Wednesday, Sep. 28th, at the beginning of the morning coffee break, at 10:30 sharp. The presenting authors of the chosen posters will be invited to a short meeting with the members of the CAC BPA panel (whose identity will finally be disclosed only then) at the very same day at 13:00, after the CCDC lecture and before the lunch break.
At this meeting, the presenting authors of the chosen TOP5 will be invited to present their research in a form of a 10 minutes talk, intended to decision makers. From that point on, for the purpose of this game, the CAC BPA panel will be converted to a decision making panel made of three tough politicians in charge of the public finances, who will decide which project will be funded in the end (only one of these 5). Your task is to convince them that you have the best one.
The presentations will be held publicly on Friday, Sep. 30th after dinner, at 20:30 (sharp) in the conference hall of the Elaphusa hotel, before the tough decision making panel as well as cheerful and loudly supporting participants of the school. Members of the panel may or may not ask for additional clarifications from the presenter.
Of course, we shall not actually provide your project funding, but we will prepare an attractive award for the presenting author of the winning presentation. The panel decision (as well as the content of the award) will be made public the following day, during the farewell dinner, and the award will be given to a winner.
Don’t ever forget – the winner takes it all.
Best of luck to all of you and let’s play . . .
